Hi!

April 10th, 2009 at 05:39 am

I've been a lurker for a couple of years. I finally decided to join in with the blogs!

This blog is about my family scrimping and saving up enough money to retire early overseas. DH and I are in our late 30's, and we'd like to retire in our 40's.

We plan to live in a less-developed country, where our savings will go farther. We don't know exactly where yet, but half the fun is deciding!

We have similar plans. I could see ourselves retiring in Vietnam, Ecuador, Argentina... Totally understand what you are talking about. Or live for a couple of years in different countries.
Also, lived in a city in the south-west of China for over 6 month, so have some idea of every-day realities of life in the 3rd world country.

Every year we go for 1 month to ONE new country(except for this year - this year it was a month in Europe so we did not spend the entire month in one country) It is not the same as living there but in one month you at least get a good feel.

    Broke Arrow,
We don't know for sure which country yet...we are still deciding. Probably we will live in a few places first.

    Nika,

That's cool that you go to a new country every year. We lived in asia several years. We never made it China, though. I'd like to hear about how it was.
